Big Big Show featuring Zoe, Mira, Liz, and More- Saturday Night, July 5th- (details tba)
Here's some info on the girls and some video reference if you need:
Zoe Jakes- Zoe is a proud member of the indigo which recently was on the road touring their
show Le Serpent Rouge. She has been touring with Bellydance Superstars since
the fall of 2005 and can be seen performing on their new Tribal Fusions DVD.
Combining talents with David Satori and Tommy Cappel to create Tribal
Derivations last spring, Zoe discovered she enjoyed creating music, and a new cd will be out may of 2008. When not with the Indigo, she tours with The Yard Dogs Road Show,
a cartoon circus sideshow of wacky dimension, and has been seen tearing it up
with the Extra Action Marching Band.
An innovative dancer, Zoe has been said to have her own unique take on Tribal
bellydance. She takes her influence from Art Nouveau, tango, Breakdance, and
Indian classical dance. Zoe was recently nominated for Zaghareets best
interpretive artist 2007. She loves unicorns and has never once doubted their
existence.
Liz Strong- Elizabeth Strong grew up in a tradition of dance and music. As a young girl she was inspired by the music and dancing of the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. Her amazingly emotional and personal style has captivated audiences in the Bay Area and abroad. Elizabeth believes that the heart is the source of dance and that dance is an expression of our relationship with life and culture. A life-long dancer, Elizabeth formally began studying and performing Middle Eastern dance in 1996 at the age of 18.

Re: Mira, Liz, and Zoe Workshop Details
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 9:45 AMWell, if I can drag my ass to Lexington to dance at Mecca eight months pregnant in the beginning of July, I'm sure I can do anything. We rocked out three hours of class last night with Anaya in Cincinnati, and we are going to do a couple numbers with them at Summerfair here in a couple weeks. Dancing has been keeping me sane, so that's not an issue, but the heat might be and I'm not sure about being away from home. But for you, Gwyn, yes, anything might be possible................... -

Re: Mira, Liz, and Zoe Workshop Details
Sun, July 27, 2008 - 11:58 AMWHOA! ! ! What a wonderfully intense seminar this was!!!! I was particularly blown away by the "Fosse" like choreo that Ms. Strong taught. It is an incredibly sensual number that expressed the music to perfection.
If anyone could post the name of that music, I would love to know so that I may buy it :)
Liz also gave us a nice work-out - I have since shared with my classes a few bits and pieces and they welcomed the challenge.
Thank you very much, Teresa for a fantastic weekend of dancing, exercise, and an awesome show. =-)
Peace,
~Jan~ -

Re: Mira, Liz, and Zoe Workshop Details
Mon, July 28, 2008 - 11:33 AMThe song Liz taught us was written by a friend of hers, specifically for her use, so it's not out for sale anywhere at this point. Sad, I know, because it's such a beautiful song! -
